"Scotland's Best Tour"
with Anne!

Day 1 - Saturday, September 6th You will fly overnight from ‘Your Chosen Airport’ to Heathrow Airport, Scotland (Airports are ​listed on the next page.) If you are booking your own Airfare, we will coordinate where you will meet the group on Sunday morning.

Day 2 - Sunday, September 7th You will arrive Glasgow International Airport  in early  afternoon. After collecting your luggage and clearing customs, you will meet your ‘Tour Guides and Driver’. They will stand-out and be easily recognizable by their Yellow Windbreaker Jackets. You will join your guide and take a short ride by luxury coach to the cultural center of Scotland, Glasgow, where we will be staying for the next three nights at the Grand Central Hotel,City Center. A Before we check in at our hotel, we will do a short guided drive through Glasgow with a stop and tour of the Clydeside Distillery to include a wee dram of Scottish wiskey. Dinner tonight will be at the Butterfly and the Pig to enjoy a traditional, “Sunday Roast” at 5 pm

Day 3 - Monday, September 8th After a well-needed rest, enjoy and a hearty, full English breakfast at your leisure. 11h after a full, leisurely English breakfast, we leave late morning for a short ride to Stirling Castle, and a guided tour of one of the British Isles most significant, historic castles and royal residences. It was the early home to Henry VIII’s first daughter, Mary Queen of Scots. Mary was one of many Scottish kings and queens who were crowned at Sterling castle. Other famous fiqures are William Wallace and Robert the Bruce who have close ties to Sterling. The tour includes tales of ghostly apparitions, as well as the more tangable displays as seen in the Museum of the Argyll and Highlander’s regiments, The Palace, The Chapel Royal, the Great Hall completed in 1503, Queen Anne Garden and Castle Exhibition and an unusual inclusion,  the Great Kitchens of the castle all housed within the castle’s walls! There are three wonderful castle shops that include items such as beautiful and affordable, tapestry reproductions for pillow covers, stained glass pieces, books on Scotland and Sterling Castle. There is also a café. We will return to Glasgow for dinner at MacSorley’s Traditional Scottish Pub at 6pm.

Day 4 - Tuesday,  September 9th After a full English breakfast,  we’ll board our bus and travel to Loch Lomand and The Trossachs National Park. We will have time leave the coach and walk around to explore the natural beauty of the area before stopping in the Village of Bollach at the foot of Lock Lomand. There we will board our boat for a one hour cruise around the Loch. Our Captain will be our local guide to point interesting features and history of the area. In addition to the natural beauty of the loch and the highlands, there are spectacular homes to be seen. Dinner tonight will be at The Beefeater Black Bear at 6:30.

Day 5 - Wednesday, September 10th After After a Full English breakfast we will check out of The Grand Central Hotel and make our way to the capital city and heart of Scotland, Edinburgh. We will stay the next three nights at The Radisson Hotel in the center of Old Town. However, we first will visit Rosslyn Chapel, just south of the city. This chapel was featured in the movie, “The Da Vinci Code” and still beguiles visitors today with its enigmatic carvings and history. It is a very short ride to the Capital city of Scotland Edinburgh, the city on the ancient volcano’s  rim. We will have a short “show and tell drive” through New Town and then to our hotel to check in. Dinner tonight will be a change of menu at the very tasty, Bella Italia, a short walk from our hotel at 6pm.

Saturday, September, 6th ~ Sunday September, 14th 2025 

Day 6 –Thursday, September 11th, After a full, English breakfast, we have a full day to explore, Edinburgh. We will take a short drive along the, “Royal Mile” to show the main attractions. You will have admission to Edinburgh Castle, at the top of the Royal Mile or High Street and you can take your time while you meander down the High street to Holyrood Palace, the royal residence of King Charles III when he is in Edinburgh which is at the bottom of the Royal Mile. You will have to time to wander in and out of shops, and stop for a bite of lunch on your own as you make your way to Holyrood. Dinner tonight is at Brown’s Brasserie&Bar in the Old Town, Edinburgh.

Day 7 –Friday, September 12th After a full, English breakfast,  We’ll leave about 9am to have a full day to explore the sites as we make our way South for our final destination the Unesco World Heritage site, Hadrian’s Wall at The Housestead’s Fort. But first, depending on the weather and renovation schedule, we plan to stop midway at the 12th century Jedburgh Abbey ruins. After the abbey we head directly to one of the most significant Roman forts of the many that were built along the 73 mile long Hadrian’s Wall across the narrowest part of the country.  It offers a spectacular view of the area as well as many Roman artifacts that were retrieved from the area. There are facilities which include a café for those who might like a bite of lunch before we return to Edinburgh. Tonight, you’ll be able to enjoy a dinner on your own at a time and place that suits you!

Day 8–Saturday, September 13th  After a full English breakfast, you will have time to do last minute shopping or some additional sightseeing in Edinburgh. There are some sites that are more out-of-the-way or may hold specific appeal to some but not all of our guests, so we will schedule a coach tour for those specific places such as The National Museum of Scotland, The Royal College of Surgeons, the decommissioned Royal yacht Britannia, Princess street, New Town  and Haymarket area for those interested. Our last dinner together tonight will be at the Blu Maison at 6:30 .


Day 9 –Sunday, September 14th,  After a full English breakfast, we check out, say ‘”Goodbye” to Edinburgh and to Scotland and depart  from  Glascow’s Airport  for USA.
